The TSAmediaHUB audiovisual contribution and distribution infrastructure developed by Telefónica’s Audiovisual Services area recently awarded the TM Broadcast 2026 Award for Best New Audiovisual Production Infrastructure, incorporates a monitoring, analysis and multiviewer solution based on TAG Video Systems technology and integrated by Aicox.
The platform enables real-time supervision of hundreds of video, audio and data signals that are part of across all types of scenarios and in highly demanding environments, such as sporting events.
To provide maximum operational visibility across the infrastructure, Telefónica selected an architecture based on TAG Video Systems’ Core platform, a software solution designed for real-time monitoring, analysis and visualization of broadcast and IP signals. The platform enables simultaneous monitoring of both compressed and uncompressed signals, high-density multiviewer mosaic generation and operational alerting whenever issues are detected within the transport or distribution chain.
At the core of the solution, TAG’s Media Control System (MCS) provides a unified management, configuration and control layer for the entire monitoring infrastructure. Through a single interface, operators can oversee the overall system status, manage alarms and access detailed information about any monitored stream.
One of the most relevant aspects of Telefónica’s innovative and competitive platform is its ability to go beyond simple signal visualization. Whenever an alarm is triggered or an anomaly is detected, operators can immediately access advanced Quality Control (QC) and analysis tools, including rasterizer functions and in-depth video, audio and metadata inspection capabilities. This allows engineering teams to quickly identify the root cause of an issue and take corrective action with minimum operational impact.
The architecture is also designed to integrate with third-party automation, orchestration and monitoring systems through open APIs. This enables the correlation of events originating from multiple vendors andproviding a centralised view of operations. Such functionality is particularly valuable in complex environments where transport, processing, distribution and monitoring platforms from different manufacturers coexist.
Aicox’s involvement in the project included solution design, monitoring architecture definition and the integration of TAG technology within Telefónica’s operational environment, helping to provide the TSAmediaHUB control center with the tools required to efficiently supervise critical infrastructure for major audiovisual projects and high-profile sporting events.
"Monitoring is no longer just a supervision tool; it has become a fundamental operational component. The objective is to provide operators with actionable real-time information that enables them to detect, analyze and resolve incidents as quickly as possible. The combination of TAG’s technology and Aicox’s integration expertise makes it possible to meet this challenge in large-scale audiovisual projects and major sports at control centres as important as TSAmediaHUB."
